Even with the warmer temperatures this past week, the chill of winter is definitely in the air, and frost can be found almost every morning. And while the Willett Ice Arena is open (nearly?) year round, it doesn’t quite feel right writing about ice skating in July. Justin and I happily agreed to pick up Madie from her skating lesson last night before heading to the King’s for dinner. Several different classes were being held at the same time for kids of various ages and abilities. Madie and her class were working at making turns and curves by crossing one foot in front of the other, as well as playing “Red Light-Green Light” to practice stopping quickly.

Madie was at the far end of the ice, so it was hard to get a good picture. Can't wait to get a good zoom lens!
I also had fun watching the younger kids learning to simply stay upright.
Can you guess which of these two boys stays on their feet?
They’re both looking pretty shaky…
Well…
Did you guess correctly?
Every child on the ice was so determined and seemed to be having a great time, even the ones with wet rumps.
